Damn.
Fuck you, and fuck this tumblr. I have a problem with you guys repeating a handful of quotes over and over and showing pictures of teenaged girls artistically holding up copies of the book . Well fuck you, I don’t want to see girls holding up books pretending to read them. If you want to read this damn book just read it. You don’t have to take a picture of yourself holding said book just to...

I finished this book 2 days ago. I read over 170 pages that day, the most I ever had in just one day. Typically, I’m one of those slow as fuck readers who goes at a snail’s pace. Holden is someone I can relate to. Salinger sucked me in from the beginning. I can’t put into words how much I love this book.

You know that song ‘If a body catch a body comin’ through the rye’? I’d like -“ “It’s ‘If a body meet a body coming through the rye’!” old Phoebe said. “It’s a poem. By Robert Burns.” “I know it’s a poem by Robert Burns.”… Anyway, I keep picturing these little kids playing some game in this…

…you’ll find that you’re not the first person who was ever confused and frightened and even sickened by human behavior.  You’re by no means alone on that score, you’ll be excited and stimulated to know.  Many, many men have been just as troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now.  Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles.  You’ll learn...
